Perfect for any age, Barbara and Annie Stone will
design treasure hunt trails around the house and through the barns of Fox
Friendly Farm that was once a small dairy farm. Follow each of several trails
through the eyes of resident chickens, Chibito the goat, Norman the sheep,
Floki the llama, or take the perspective of Honey Bees looking for the best
pollen source.
This will give you a unique glimpse of the farm
drawing on Barbara's sense of the animals' life rhythms and Annie Stone's
Montessori teaching experience. Together they bring a love for creating
meaningful experiences in nature for children. Farm stories tell of sustaining
relationships with the food we eat, the objects we use and the people and other
species who enter our lives.
Annie grew up in Colorado and now lives in Chicago
where she has been a classroom teacher for 10 years. With a focus on the needs
of children ages 3-6, she has become increasingly interested in the way that
diverse environments support life. Having summers free allows her to study,
make art and visit Colorado. Last summer she received Permaculture
certification and has just returned from Costa Rica where she researched
tropical trees.
The hand painted goose eggs of Annie Stone will be
displayed and music will be provided by Dan Organ.
